"Rude doctors and management"

About: Centre Practice

After waiting three weeks for an appointment for my 10 year old daughter I was given one for 8.20am on a weekday morning, I arrived for my daughters appointment admittedly 10 minutes late due to a road traffic accident, I was told at 8.30 a note would be sent through to my doctors computer that we had arrived and it would be down to her if she would see us, 45 minutes later at 9.15 I was told that the doctor had refused to see my daughter and that I would have to try again (and possibly wait another three weeks) for an appointment, understandably I was late and knew we may not be seen but I was frustrated that they had kept us waiting 45 minutes to tell me we would not be seen, resulting in my daughter being very late for school and myself for work.....I then spoke to a manager who was very rude and unprofessional talking down to me and loud enough that everyone in the waiting room could hear our conversation and when I asked for a complaints form she also told me she is the one who deals with the complaints so pretty useless when I was going to mention herself in the complaints form. The very polite receptionist arranged me another appointment for Friday and I left very upset and embarrassed thanks to the “manager” I then returned with my daughter on Friday evening for her rearranged appointment only to be feel that the doctor wasn’t much help with the problem we had came for and at the end of my daughters appointment I was kept behind like a naughty school child and almost told off for expressing my frustration on Wednesday to their rude manger, being told I had upset a member of his staff, this was very unfair when he was not there and did not know the situation and also a little patronising, I will never be returning to this surgery as I feel that clearly work friendship comes before professionalism and respect for their patients, this was not the only occasion I have been spoken to rudely by members of the surgery either and I won’t even mention the times I have been waiting 20-30 minutes for my appointment when the doctors are running late.

When patients are late for an appointment reception will always ask the clinician if they can still see a patient. I agree that the GP took a long time to come back with an answer and we will ask clinicians to come back with an immediate reply in the future. The practice takes all complaints seriously and you can get a copy of our complaints procedure from our website or from reception.
