Excellent consultant care, can't be faulted. 1 nurse needed to show empathy and be less aggressive.
I couldn't sit up without vomiting post surgery but she seemed angry and assumed it was pain having that effect. She said there are more painful joint replacements than yours! I was close to tears.
On another occasion she attempted to insert a catheter and clearly didn't know how to do it.
Also it was me that suggested not taking one of the drugs to see if that was making me sick, not the hospital.
When I was leaving a junior came and passed me my crutches expecting me to walk the whole length of he hospital (2 days post total hip replacement and the longest I'd walked at that point was a few yards) until I said I needed a wheelchair which she pushed far too fast and too close to my husband in front of me. Same person also wasn't aware of how to advise me to get in/out of the car. Had I not done some research on this prior to surgery, and not done what she advised, I'd have been straight back in with a dislocated hip!
Its a real shame that these incidents have clouded my impression of what otherwise was a very good experience.
"Excellent apart from 2 points"
