Unfortunately, like many people in the world I have Rheumatoid Arthritis in most of my joints and I am an extremely nervous patient. My consultant explained the procedure and answered any questions that I had. He reassured me and made me feel less anxious at once..I must say, please do not be put off by the negative feedback that you see from others because honestly my experience was all positive during my 5 day stay. I had a total hip replacement and during the operation they found that I had a torn muscle which was repaired at the same time..I received excellent care from the consultant, anaesthetist, nurses and physiotherapists. The room was lovely and was cleaned every day. The sheets were changed daily. I love fresh clean sheets. The nurses helped me to wash myself and changed my nightwear daily which made me feel so much better. The physiotherapists were very gentle and encouraged me to do all the exercises and walking that I was really scared of doing. Especially when going up and down stairs. I was really worried about being in pain but I had no need to worry as my pain was monitored throughout the day and night. Pain relief medicine was given as and when required. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The staff that brought me my meals were always happy and always had smiles on their faces. They always asked me if they could get me anything more and when I had visitors they always asked them if they would like a hot drink. So thoughtful. My visitors were impressed. The hydrotherapy pool is wonderful to aid recovery. I wish I had one at home. I must not forget the lovely kind man who came with a wheelchair to wheel me from my car, in and out of the hospital. He warned me about any little bumps that were coming and made me laugh. I am recovering slowly but day by day I am getting a little stronger. I cannot fault the care that I received and I would highly recommend the Chiltern Hospital.and give them 5*Stars. You really could not get better care anywhere else especially when one is feeling very vulnerable and scared. I would like to send a big thank you to a great surgeon and the lovely lady anaesthetist, who kept me pain free and breathing. Also many many thanks to all the staff involved with my care. xx.
"EXCELLENT HOSPITAL 5 STARS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!"
