"Highly recommend"

I was initially hesitant to visit The Family Practice on Holloway road, but it turned out that all of the staff were very helpful and courteous from the word go. I was treated with exceptional care, finished off with big beaming smiles every time, from both doctors during my time living in Islington.

One particular doctor was always an absolute ray of sunshine with a clear and reassuring knowledge base around common illnesses and ailments. She was very reassuring to me at all times, after having taken the time to listen to my concerns and adapt her response as appropriate. I really would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone for any need.

Another doctor was equally welcoming and extremely professional. He makes you feel very much at ease and conveys a genuine interest to wanting to know how you feel and how you are as well as how he can help. I would also not hesitate to recommend him.

The receptionist staff seemed to rotate often at the surgery but they were always very professional and extremely efficient. It's a busy practice but it was clear each and every time that they were looking after everyone as best as they could.

My only small critic of the practice is that it's got many patients and it is tricky to book appointments for the near future when you become ill. I adopted a technique of booking appointments a few weeks in advance every half-month or so. While I was always careful to cancel if I did not need them, my understanding from speaking with the doctors was that others were not always so careful. While this pattern is understandable due to the longer waiting times, it only exacerbated the situation unfortunately. It was also tricky on some occasions to get a response via telephone, although this happened rarely. Furthermore, the practice have a great system where you can call up for a phone consultation which I used several times in the period of a year very succesfully!

Overall, I really would not hesitate to recommend this clinic to anyone in need. I had a great experience there every time I went. The practice is clean and homely and has all the information you could need. It was clear every time that all the staff involved are trying hard to do their best for the patients in an unforgiving setting. Many thanks to all of those people who looked after me while I was unwell!
