"Poor Service"

About: Lytham Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

Recently went to the GP.. who said I had an ear infection, gave me A/B`s and told me to inhale steam? After 3 days I asked for 2nd opinion and got refused, informing me to go to a different Surgery! In desperation, I was "forced" to have go private (£500) where I was told I did not have any infection, and was put on Steriods!. A week later, I was told by the Specialist that the he would be writing to the GP as there was no infection, and I would be sent for a MRI. In the meantime I also saw a NHS Specialist at the local Hospital who didnt say what was wrong with me, but just shrugged their shoulders

Today, I have been to discuss whether I needed a hearing aid. I have not been told I needed a hearing aid? I thought it was for additional tests. Whilst there, I was told sarcastically that I have severe hearing loss in my ear? I didnt know, nor have I been told that either. Then, I was offered something resembling something from the 1960`s as a hearing aid, with a comment from the Audiolost that I would just have to be less concerned how I look in future? At that point I left, with no hearing aid, since I thought such a comment was not only disrespectful, but also confrontational.

The NHS is the most expensive health care in the World, and after 44 yrs of paying towards it, this is the sort of service I receive. ?....Disgraceflu!
