What could be improved
The current service and resources provided by BCH is totally inadepaute and appauling. This is my secong child and they have changef the appointment to a stupid inefficient 'answer machine'! Hardly appropriate when dealing with midwifery. I have been trying to book an appointment for nearly 4 weeks and ad yet have not acutally spoken to anyone let alone a midwife. This is particularly poor if you need to discuss something important with your midwife, if you have the luck to actually speak to one!
When i ring its an answer machine and i'm told they'll ring back in 72 hrs, which they have not always done. And apparently if its an emergency i have to call the hospital i'm booked in at. That's fine if you're having hosputal birth but i want a home birth and this poor level of support and resource is not giving me confidrnce for when i go into labour! So i may well have to have a hospital birth.
I have also tried ringing the main switchboard and going direct to thd badgers, but was told they don't work for the midwives or take apptmts snd to ring the answer machine!!!! I explained rhat it clearly is failing!!!
I think this is appauling and not it the patients best interest, completely unhelpful and therefore risky.
Very disapointed and still yet to acutally spk to anyone or get an apptmt!
