"Total lack of care all round."

About: Northwick Park Hospital

What I liked

I was referred to NPH with a decayed wisdom tooth. I waited two months (in great pain) for a consultation with the Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery Unit. I then waited for 30 minutes beyond my appointmnet time. I was called to the doctor who asked if I had had an X-ray done. I hadn't, so I was sent back to the waiting room for another 10 minutes. The radiologist was brusque, to the point of rudeness. Then I was sent back to the waiting room. When I saw the doctor again, he said that my op would be in 4-6 weeks. I mentioned this to the receptionist, who smiled and made no comment. Having not received a letter from the hospital after several days. I phoned the waiting list number. This was permanently on ansaphone and no-one responded to my message, so I phoned the PALS. They said that, in fact the estimated date for my operation was 11 weeks from the date of the consultation. So I went private.

What could be improved

Waiting times - all round.

Communication between staff.

Radiologist's unkind and condescending manner.

Anything else?

They managed to get my title and middle name wrong on the appointment letter!
