I was brought into hospital with chest pains on 12th
November was seen immediately in A@ E staff in there was brilliant and help was no trouble . I was put in AMU ward and during the day the nursing staff were very caring and helpful , when they finished there shift this is when it all started to go down hill . My wife rang to see if I had been put onto the cardiac ward which she was told that was the plan . Unfourtuatly due to the ward being busy I was staying on AMU . Someone told my wife on the phone that I had moved , I spoke to a csa and asked him could he check for me as I don’t want my disabled wife trying to find me . With that a senior staff nurse accused my wife of lying and started shouting at me I kindly asked her not to speak to me like that as I haven’t been rude to anyone and if it carried on I will speak to someone senior . She puffed out her chest and said I am the senior and I’ll get you a form . Did I really need this as ? They also told my wife I’m sitting up and I’m fine , when I was laying down with extreme chest pain . Next day I waited all day with one visit from the ward consultant saying u can have a ecg if it’s clear you can go and I’ll refer you , hour later a cardiac consultant arrived said you need a scan . Then the afternoon I was taking to Southbourne ward , the nurse that took me there was rudely greeted by fellow colleagues which I was shocked . I asked what happens next when a nurse said nothing were busy . After my wife went and spoke to someone they told her I need to go for a physical assessment clearly the consultant doesn’t read the notes that I have a false knee and lupus which prevents me doing anything like this . Then the nurses started laughing a my expense when I said I was told I neede a scan . There reply was you will be here days were busy and just walked off . I tried to say to them that I felt unwell and very intimidated by all this and I think I should go as I was making me feel worse . The nurse just threw a discharge paper at me and said fill that in . A doctor eventually came round and spoke to me saying she would see what she could do but by this time I needed
"A@E brilliant BUT the care after that shocking"
