"Sherwood birthing unit"

About: King's Mill Hospital / Maternity care

I went into labour early morning Friday, got to the hospital was quickly given gas and air, and had an examination, to find I was losing quite a lot of blood and my baby’s heart had as good as stopped.! I don’t think anything can prepare you for the fright you feel but quickly I was rushed in for an emergency C section and put to sleep at my request due to being so de stressed. All the doctors, nurses and midwifes are the reason I’m now sat safe at home with my baby! The after care and health care works were lovely, caring and attentive, my only negative criticism is that there isn’t enough staff on the maternity unit and although the staff are fab your waiting around for pain relief and fresh bedding.
