"My wife's broken leg"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

My wife was admitted on the 14 Nov 2018 with a compound fracture of the Tibia and operated on the 16 Nov 2018. The service was generally very good, except she has not seen a doctor from the Surgical team or any doctor since and it's now Thursday 22 Nov 2018? This I find very strange, I would have thought a doctor would have seen her and explained what procedure had been carried and what she should or should do?

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that your wife has not received an explanation about her operation or what will happen next. I hope this has now been resolved however, if this is still a concern please ask her to ask the nurse caring for her to arrange for a doctor to speak to her today. Alternatively, if she feels unable to do this please contact our PALS team on 01782 676450 who will be happy to support.

Kind Regards
