My mum is 93 and suffered from dementia. She stayed in a nursing home and around mid September my mum fell and broke her hip. Following some complications my mum was admitted to Ward 52 in the Langlands Unit of the QEUH. Sadly my mum was unable to recover from her accident and the subsequent complications, and she died in late October. Throughout the period my mum was in Ward 52 I had no doubt that the level of care my mum was receiving was exceptional. And they looked after me, as well as my mum. I will never forget the staff who really cared and who showed so much compassion. They work incredibly long hours, and they have incredible patience dealing with really challenging situations every single day I was there. I cannot thank all the staff enough for helping to make the last period of my mums life peaceful. Knowing my mum was well looked after and really cared for made a huge difference. I will never forget the team at Ward 52.
