"My 16 year old son now has no nipples"

My son had suffered abuse for most of his life due to enlarged breast tissue. Finally last year this was recognised as a medical problem and Leicester Royal agreed to operate. A very painful and humiliating experience for a lad who is extremelly fit and bordering on a professional sporting career. They sent him home with drains still intact. However, 5 months later my son has NO nipples and we have now been told by the consultant this is normal and that they will never return. If, at the time of deciding whether to have this very painful surgery, we would have been informed of the outcome I can def say we would not have given consent.
