"Anaesthetic genius"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

(as a service user),

Today I had shoulders surgery at Wishaw General Hospital. The whole team were excellent - especially Dr Doody. I have given her the above title for the one reason only- she managed to give me a general anaesthetic, without me being sick. To give context to this I suffer from the most horrendous post op nausea and vomiting. Today she opted for TIVA. I can’t thank her and her registrar enough (apologies I have forgotten you name in my drug addled state). Because of the two fantastic people I got home on the day of my surgery instead of an overnight stay. All this on top of having life threatening allergies, being in the nursing profession, and everyone knows that thing never go right when you work on medical/nursing colleagues. Well thanks to them, today everything went RIGHT. Thanks also to Mr Ayoub. He managed to get to the root of my problem and hopefully fixed it. Rehab will tell.

In all thank you just seems inadequate to describe by heartfelt thanks to this fabulous team of people.

Thank you

Dear Mitchef912,

Thank you so much for taking the time during your recovery to post your lovely feedback.

Dr Doody and her registrar will be delighted to hear that due to their anaesthetic genius you avoided the post op nausea and vomiting you anticipated and got home as intended.

I will pass your comments and your heartfelt thanks on to Mr Ayoub and the whole team.

Hoping your rehab goes well.

Best wishes, Lynne.
