I was admitted to Ward 21 at Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy from A and E.
Dr Francis and the whole team took good care of me. My heart rate was brought down to a more normal level and I was discharged within about 48 hours.
I was impressed by the care given by all of the members of staff I met, whatever their role.
Being continuously anchored to lots of wires connected to machines monitoring vital functions was not fun and meant that I could only venture a few feet from the bed. This made me feel intensely claustrophobic and depressed my mood. I hope that didn't show too much, but staff seemed to intuit how I was feeling and showed special care. I was treated as a person, and that counts for a great deal in every encounter.
I offer my sincere thanks to all members of staff.
