"Waste of everyone time"

About: Thurrock Health Centre

I just had a telephone appointment for my repeated prescription over the phone. The doctor/nurse from the surgery told me that that she is going to reduce my asthma pump because I am taking another medicine (don’t want to name here) and I should be only taking preventer not the reliever. I totally understand the purpose of preventer and reliever and have the knowledge about asthma. But without the reliever I cannot live when I need it.

I pay for my prescription and I cannot suffer or risk my life based on the advice I have been given. it's really upset me that I do not have the right to have medicine when I really need it.

Now, the person assessed me over the phone refuse to prescribe unless I see them personally.

I am getting this this medicine for many years now and works for me keep going. She has booked an appointment to visit the surgery for the prescription. I think it is complete waste of NHS money and my time where I need to ask my boss again for a time off from my work.

Please do get in touch with me as soon as possible so that I can take your details and liaise with the clinician involved and our Lead GP to ensure that we draw up a mutually agreed Asthma Action Plan for you.
