"The reason my son is alive today"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

In June this year I was very poorly and was admitted following monitoring in the antenatal assessment unit which all ultimately lead to me having my baby 9 weeks early. The care I received on all wards was amazing but I’d love to give a very special mention to the wonderful staff on the labour ward (midwives HCA’s and doctors) who cared for me so well before, during and even after my son was born. Whilst in their care I felt safe which I think is so important when someone is at their most vulnerable and when it was decided that my baby would have to be born their quick thinking and professionalism was second to none which is the reason my son is alive today. I wish I could remember everyone’s name who I came to meet that week but it wouldn’t be possible but the midwives I will honestly never forget are Waj, Bushra, Ann, Lisa, Steph and Kerry they are amazing women and I will never be able to thank them enough.
