"Walk-in centre, Leeds"

Today I went to the walk-in centre in Leeds for the first time and the Dr I saw was the most patient, full of humour and positive medical professional I have met in a while. 

There were 3 of them on shift and this particular dr had seen over 50 patients, and mkre were waiting at 8pm in the eve when ai left-  the centre was very busy! We got talking, and for someone who'd been working for 12 hrs non-stop with no break, she showed no signs of grumpiness or irrtation at my list of questions. She answered all my questions and helped to put my mind at ease. 

I wish everyone who complains about GPs, nurses, midwives, doctor, etc. would remember that these people are humans too. While we all lose our rag because the waiting time is too long, these people work tirelessly to ensure that we, the public, get the care we need.

The NHS is truly a blessing for for me. We have a great health system and even greater are the people who try to do everything they can to take care of our health - even at their own detriment. 

Thank you Leeds walk-in centre and thank you NHS. When people complain about the NHS, I wish they'd remember that there are people in other parts of the world who would kill to have our 'problems'.
