I first walked into the day surgical unit at Rochdale for a hysterectomy under general anaesthetic.
I went to the reception desk to be met by a lady who was not in the least bit welcoming to a person who was nervous and apprehensive to say the least. In fact she neither smiled and seemed Like she did not want to be there.
I then went to the recovery ward where I was initially spoken to by a lady who was a little grumpy when I asked her questions.
Then a lady doctor called round and the anaesthetist who was not very talkative and stern.
My impressions were that I was on a conveyer belt to be rushed in and out and felt deflated.
I know a lot of people need seeing to but a smile does not cost anything or time.
The rest of experience did improve and staff in the anathetic room and after were good.
I just feel you should be aware.
Thankyou.
