i Have had previous colonoscopies at other hospitals so luckily knew what to expect.
The care given by the nursing staff and porters was very kind and helpful as you would hope for. Also the Doctor I saw in clinic could not have been kinder and really listened to my problems before arranging for this test and allowing me to be am inpatient the night before in order to manage the prep because of the problems I have.
The doctor who performed the actual colonoscopy had a very poor bedside manner and seemed to take umbrage that I refused sedation as had never needed it before, but when offered it I used the Entenox p r n.
He barely addressed me , did the initial digital rectal exam without warning me, and the whole procedure felt quite rough, for want of a better word. I felt I had to drag out of him any comment on what we were seeing on the screen.
I was obviously extremely relieved nothing was found at the time, but am still suffering the effects of the colonoscopy two weeks later.
