"I had banged my head in an accident rather badly"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

I had banged my head in an accident rather badly and went to the QMC with my wife.

I was greeted at the front desk my a very pleasant woman who took my details.

We waited for about 15 minutes before being seen by a nurse. While waiting we witnessed a member of staff having to deal with an aggressive member of the public. She delt with this person firmly and professionally.

The nurse who who saw me seemed a bit confused and indecisive as to what to do but I was satisfied with with the examination.

We then had to wait for another hour before being seen by a doctor.

The doctor was friendly and treated me.

I’m sorry to hear about your accident. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I’m pleased we did a good job on the whole, though as you describe there is always room for improvement. I’ve shared your kind words with my Emergency Department colleagues.
All the best
Clare Mayfield, Emergency Department Matron
