"Professional, kind and compassionate care"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Day Surgery

(as a service user),

From the moment of arrival, being greeted by a friendly smile by the receptionist I felt welcomed and in safe hands.

My partner was reassured and given clear return instructions by the nurse as I went through to the patient area.

Every member of the team was so efficient, reassuring and went to great efforts to make sure I was comfortable and aware of what was happening. Thanks to Stephanie for taking me through pre-op checks, I completely felt at ease and had all questions answered. At no time did I feel rushed.

Both anaesthetist and Dr Sokolova made sure I understood the procedure and again, made me feel like I was being individually cared for.

Once in the theatre, can I please thank the nurse who smiled and mouthed “we will look after you” as I went to sleep, I felt so safe at that moment.

In recovery again, I was met by the smiling, friendly team who gave exactly the right amount of 1-1 care alongside enough time for a wee bit of post-op rest.

My partner was promptly updated and assured I was well.

Once I was sufficiently recovered Dr Sokolova clearly explained the results of the surgery and made sure I was aware of how to manage the diagnosis going forward. Again, I felt confidently reassured, and was pleased with the care plan proposed and jointly agreed.

Discharge instruction from the nursing Senior was well explained and helpful back-up leaflets were provided.

Put simply, I felt safe, individually cared for and professionally treated from the moment of arrival until I left. Thank you so much for looking after me.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear CB141118,

I will be very happy to pass your gratitude to Dr Sokolova, Stephanie and the team. Person centred care is something we strive for and it certainly sounds that your visit was indeed that. Apart from being there in the first place (sorry), I think this sounds the perfect visit.

Thank you for taking time to share this lovely accolade, I am sure the team will be delighted.

I hope you are fully recovered and the results are the best possible,

Best wishes,

Eunice
