"Care received in monklands"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department University Hospital Monklands / General Medicine (Wards 2,10,12 and 17)

(as a relative),

Would just like to thank the staff in monklands hospital for the great care my mum received during here stay few months back. The staff in A E AMRU and Receiving ward the staff were amazing with my mum as we had a difficult few months with her hip pain the consultant in AMRU was amazing did not get her name but this lady did her job amazing and would like to say thank you.   Also would like to thank the domestic staff and porters for care givin to my mum as always pleasant and happy to chat My mum was moved to ward 14 and all I can say that thank you dose not come close to the way my mum was treated and cared for working in the care setting myself it hard when it your own family but nurses doctors kept use up to date with her progress and again thank you is not enough. Only disappoint bit was my mum sent two letttes one to senior charge nurse of the ward and to Andrea Fife expressing her thanks and has had no reply. Feel that even a letter to say thanks and to let the staff know how greatful we were for the care we received not just for my mum care but as for use as a family knowing she was in safe hands.

Dear Nonamw

Thank you so much for your very kind posting on Care Opinion. This is a really good example of how we can make a difference to our patient’s and relative's experience. The nursing, medical, domestic and portering staff will be absolutely delighted with your feedback and I will ensure that staff are aware of your post. This is the person centred approach we strive to deliver every day, every time to every patient and to know that your experience reflects this is fantastic feedback for the whole team.

In relation to the letters sent by your mum, I can only apologise that in this instance our normal process was not followed as we would send a letter of acknowledgement back to your mum. This was an oversight on our part and we will ensure this is done as a matter of urgency.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us and we hope your mum is recovering well.

Kindest regards

Eileen

Dear Nonamw

Can I add my apologies in relation to the lack of formal acknowledgement of the very kind letters of thanks your mum sent following her positive experiences of the care delivered to her by our clinical and non-clinical teams.

We are genuinely sorry that your mum did not receive a letter back from us, and if you would be kind enough to contact our Patient Affairs Department through our main switchboard number, to provide the name and address for your mum, we will deal with this oversight immediately.

In the meantime, please do let her know that we are incredibly grateful for the time she took to provide us with that feedback, and thank you also for your very kind comments above. It is a real boost to our teams and always incredibly welcome.

Many thanks and best wishes

Nichola
