Can't thank SNM Katrina, Harriet and Anne enough.
I was booked in for induction, this was my first experience of being induced. It was a very mixed experience... the ward experience was great until my waters broke and my labour became extremely quick - I don't think the midwife could quite believe or prepare for how quick. The staff were efficient and got me to the labour suite within minutes. My biggest comment with regards the ward would be more delivery rooms or better use of side rooms would have helped (there were two of us in a bay of 4 in labour, both our waters had broken and only one toilet between us... Not a lot of privacy when you're in established labour. I was explained why they would prefer for you not to have the baby in the side room of the ward due to only have one set of resus equipment which I can understand)
The consultant led midwives, were fantastic and Anne was great staying with me from the ward. The delivery wasn't straightforward with the cord being wrapped around our baby girls neck twice, SCM Katrina was so calm and reassuring. A great role model to Harriet, who was newly qualified. Harriet dealt with all my aftercare and could not do enough for me.
I had to return to the assessment unit 2 days later and the staff again were fantastic (I can't remember the midwifes name who looked after me whilst being induced and when I returned two days later). It's just a note to say, thanks for all your help and your a great team.
"A great team"
