I was admitted to West Suffolk Hospital ward F4 on 31st October 2018, for an operation to my left foot to rectify Hind Foot Arthritis and allowed home the following evening.
The result of this is being in a plaster cast for 6 weeks, followed by a special protective boot for a further 6 weeks.
The treatment I received relating to the whole process, I feel could not have been exceeded by a top private hospital.
Everyone involved, from my Consultant Surgeon and his team, to the wonderful Hospital Transport guys treated me with care, respect and nothing was too much trouble.
All the staff on the ward, whether nurses, cleaners, or porters were not only very professional but greeted me with a smile and cheery voice. If I had a need, I never heard “It’s not my job”, someone always responded.
The quality of the meals far exceeded my expectations.
The rehabilitation team not only visited my house prior to the operation, but several times on the ward to ensure my ability to cope at home following the operation.
All this was followed by a rigorous discharge process all geared to my wellbeing.
I thank you all, you are simply the best.
