"Waiting forever"

About: Oaklands Hospital

I have had nothing but issues with his hospital since my GP referred me over in August.

I got referred because I have had on going abdomal pain since July and I was referred over to have the camera test.

I got referred and originally had an appointment but had to wait 4 weeks. Once I then seen the consultant who was not at all helpful, asked me a few minor questions and then advised me I had to get a CT scan not the camera test as I originally thought but he failed to give me an explanation as to why. He then advised me I had to go to the radiology department to book the test.

I then got told I would have to wait up to 4 weeks. I called them everyday on the last week and every time I called I was promised call backs which didn’t happen. I was assured numerous times that someone would “locate” my paperwork and call me back it never happened.

I called the week after the 4 weeks to be told I had been given an appointment which was 2 weeks time. I was also informed of the wrong time!!

I eventually had my CT scan but on the letter I was advised i had to be there 15 minutes before my appinemt but the nurse advised me I should of been there an hour before!!

On the letter I was also advised I would have to make a follow up appointment for two weeks time but the consultant isn’t available for three weeks!

I also requested that the results go to my own GP as this hospital is an hour by public transport away and they have point blank refused.

I’m still waiting to attend this appointment but it disgust me how I have been treated. Not one person communicates back or even asks you if you’d like any pain killers.

I would rather deal with my own doctors but I feel I have been forced to use this hospital and it’s not at all helpful.
