"None existant after care"

About: North Downs Hospital

Had surgery in orthopaedic department, surgeon and theatre staff excellent, but had no after care, I came out in hives from anisetic, the nurse went to get me a tablet but never came back, I was on the day ward, couldn't go to the toilet had no call button, no one came to check on me at all, my friend came to the hospital at 6pm to collect me as no one had contacted her, she waited with me in the day surgery unit a further hour and a half, she checked my chart the last nurse to check me was 4.30 pm the one that went to get me some medication but never returned, my friend went to find a nurse, someone finally came at 7.40 I'd been given no boot after operation so I couldn't get off the bed, we later found out the nurse had gone off duty and I wasn't handed over, the level of duty of after care was discusting, the nurse that discharged me finally did her best as she had to go and print off my discharge papers and medication, I was left nearly 4 hours without seeing a member of staff , if my friend hadn't turned up i strongly believe I would've been left there all night, a member of staff had said that they were short staffed when I questioned why I'd been left so long on my own and waited 4 hrs for a piriton
