"Appointment arrangement"

About: New Stobhill Hospital (Glasgow)

(as the patient),

I received a letter asking me to contact the Referral Management Centre at Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow to arrange an appointment.   I have been trying all day to contact them on the numbers provided.   Each time I am put on hold and after about 10 minutes, I am informed that I am either 8th or 10th in the queue.   Surely a hospital should be able to send out appointments without all this rigmarole? ? ?   If their phones operators are so busy, perhaps there could be an online booking system.

Dear SVQ234

I am sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing with the Referral Management Centre. The Referral Management Centre (RMC) is responsible for booking outpatient clinic appointments for a range of specialties and locations and the phone lines can be particularly busy.

I have checked with my colleagues in Health Records and they have advised that you can use the email address: Appointmentsbookingcentre@ggc.scot.nhs.uk

It would be helpful if you could include your date of birth or CHI number (if you know it) in the email.

Kind Regards

Nicole
