"Cardiac department, South Wing Hospital"

About: Bedford Hospital NHS Trust

I had an appointment at my doctors on the 15/10/2018 because I had recently experienced some chest pains. The doctor diagnosed me with possible angina so she referred me to the hospital. A week later I received a letter stating I had an appointment on 29/10/2018 for the Angina Clinic at 2pm.

When I arrived a nurse did various tests too assess me and I was told a specialist nurse would then see me. The specialist nurse was very thorough and asked many questions about my symptoms which she wrote down. The cardiac consultant then assessed me and decided an Angiogram would be the best way to find out what was causing the problem.

I was given an appointment for 12 noon the next day, 30/10/2918. From the moment I was admitted I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the level of care I received. I was fully informed of what was going to happen and the staff were very pleasant and helped to put me at ease. The consultant came to speak with me beforehand and explained in detail what he would be doing.

During the Angiogram it was found I needed a stent in one of my arteries which was fitted.

I was able to leave hospital at 7 pm.

I think the level of care I received was exceptional and I am very grateful for that.

I couldn’t have wished for better care. Thank you.
