I left this hospital after having spine surgery feeling traumatised by the aftercare, post op.
will definitely avoid being an inpatient here again. I have never felt so humiliated and let down by so many nurses involved in my after care. As a chronic pain patient with a mental health condition, the correct procedures should of been used when failing to administer drugs used to treat these conditions on a daily basis while as an inpatient at this hospital considering I brought ALL my own medication in with me. But to have to demand that I self medicate to enable me to access my own daily medication was a joke and to be refused to the degree that I was willing to rip out a drain in my neck to allow me to leave and go home to medicate myself shows how manic I had become due to the withdrawal of my meds since I had arrived prior to surgery. an overall traumatic and nightmare of an experience to go through considering I was supposed to be recovering from spine surgery !
"never again"
