I was at work and wasn't feeling right, so I got sent to a& e majors as I had suspected meningitis, so I had a pretty long wait in a& e o had a major headache high temp and was in so much pain the light was effecting my eyes so I was having to put a coat over my head I was in a chair on the corridoor in a& e majors, I was then admitted and went to Amu short stay I didn't like that very much as I asked for pain relief and they didn't come back to me for hours I felt like I was abandoned obviously I was in the sideroom due to suspected meningitis.
The next day I got moved to Amu short stay ward 18, from here I was welcomed like I've never seen before the care I received here was the best care I've ever received they treated me with dignity and respect and was always on top of pain always making sure I was ok, I had to receive a lumbar puncture and the two female doctors that did it we're fantastic they didn't cause me any pain as when I had a previous lumber puncture on Amu they hurt me, from the sisters, to the nurses, the healthcare assistant the cleaners, the ward Clark and the doctors you were all fantastic I couldn't of asked for better care you all went above and beyond your call of duty thank you so much for making me feel safe and secure and for getting me better, this ward 18 Amu was amazing your a credit to the NHS
