"Self-Referral Physiotherapy"

About: North Manchester General Hospital

Attended the Physiotherapy department, was very happy to get in as quickly as I did, the young lady I saw was very helpful in explaining what could be causing my knee pain, but I am well aware of my arthritic pain as I have had arthritis in my knees for some time now but haven't experienced a pain like this before, very much like an elastic band tightening around my knee with immense throbbing pain, my first thoughts were possible bursa or varicous vein problems....anyway I would have expected an xray of the knee at least but was told to strengthen the knee with exercise for the next 2 week which I will do for now!

Thank you for your comments.

Staff strive to provide excellent care and provide information to improve patient health. You do not say if you have another appointment after the two weeks if so the Physiotherapist will happily discuss your concerns with you.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome and you wish to discuss your experience further, please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0161 604 5897 or email pals@pat.nhs.uk.
