"Unable to get suddenly get repeat prescription"

About: Clarence Medical Centre

I have been diagnosed with a chronic condition which requires daily medication to be taken, however when my pharmacy tried to get a repeat prescription the doctor at the Medical Center questioned why I am requesting this repeat prescription. The Medical Center did not make contact with me, I had to contact them. I will now have to change doctors as I have lost trust that the Medical Center is able assist me further. It was their doctors who diagnosed this chronic condition so it should be clearly documented in their notes. So either their nodes are not properly documented or the doctor did not read them when the repeat prescription was called in, either way this is not a doctors office I can continue to be part of. I am expecting more from my doctors.

Thank you for your comments.

I am so sorry to hear that you have had difficulty obtaining a prescription for your medication.

Occasionally doctors do like to check details prior to issuing a new prescription but I am sorry that you had to contact the surgery yourself; this is not usual procedure and I can see it would have been troubling. We very rarely have problems with our management of prescriptions and we all try our very best to ensure that patients receive their medication in a timely manner.

I apologise if we fell short in your case.
