"misdiagnosed"

been to the practice quite few times but this time is totally disappointed.

been see by a doctor and the doctor was not look at my things properly ( i got some spot in my genital area) and immediately said i got herpes . The doctor not do a swab for me and prescribed some medicine to treat herpes.

i were shock because i been with my partner for 10 yrs and always safe . i decide to go private clinic to get test properly and the results came back negative. make me worried sick.

I'm sorry to read that you were unhappy with your experience. Without further details it is impossible to explore this further. If you would like to discuss this further, please make an appointment for review with the doctor you saw, or with a different GP if you prefer. Alternatively, you can contact the practice manager to explore your concerns. I'm sorry if you were not given sufficient explanation for the diagnosis or treatment by the doctor.

Speaking more generally. Herpes can be diagnosed on examination alone. Testing is not always done, and a negative test doesn't rule out genital herpes. Herpes can reoccur many years after the primary infection and doesn't necessarily imply recent infection. It sounds like you were appropriately prescribed antiviral medication if herpes was suspected.
