"Oral and Maxillofacial Department - Quality of..."

About: Derriford Hospital

I attended the Oral and Maxillofacial Department yesterday to have emergency treatment on a cyst on my face. I was met by an F2 doctor who was extremely helpful and explained exactly what he would be doing. He put me at my ease and was extremely pleasant. He performed the procedure competently and efficiently ,and although he was unable to give me any anaesthetic (my cyst was infected), I felt no pain at all - a credit to this doctor !

I have had no bleeding at home and have suffered no after effects of having the cyst drained and the core removed.

Furthermore The nurse who assisted was not only extremely professional but vary caring and supportive.

I was extremely impressed with a junior doctor who showed empathy, confidence and skill.

Thank you to this department . You were brilliant. I wish the doctor all the best he is an asset to the profession.

Kind regards

Jane O'Sullivan
