What I liked
From the moment I entered Birchington Ward the care and attention I received was exceptional, from the Concultant/Doctors, nurses, the young man who brought fresh water, the lady who delivered the meals and even the wonderful lady who took me from my room down to theatre and kept me laughing and talking to take my mind off what was ahead of me.
From the time I was taken back to my room the nurses were attentive and very kind, sitting with me when I had weepy moments (quite a few of them), answering any questions I had, assuring me it would not hurt when I had to have injections or blood tests (needle phobia) to putting on my sexy socks when I couldn't reach down to my feet.
I had not been in a hospital for 22 years and was very scared but I was put at ease and well looked after. I would have no problem should I ever have to go back to this hospital and to all those that looked after me I have the greatest respect.
What could be improved
Nothing
"The care and attention received was exceptional."
