"Was brought in by ambulance to A&E then to be..."

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Accident and emergency

Am very disappointed with A&E staff was brought in to A&E on Sunday the 7th October by ambulance was checked in then only to be told to go round to medocc were there was a 4 to 5 hour wait. But as I was waiting to go round to medocc I over heard a nurse say to another if they can walk send to medocc if not we will treat here. Not very professional

If you ask me. Then only to wait the 5 hours to be told to see my own GP on Monday morning. Still was able to find out what the problem was very disappointing with the service.

We are very sorry that you were disappointed when you attended the Emergency Department recently. Whilst it is appropriate for some patients to be redirected to MedOCC, a GP run facility located on site, we would, however, expect an explanation to be provided.

It is difficult to comment on your particular case without knowing greater detail, however if you would like to speak to a matron to discuss your concerns our PALS team (patient advice and liaison service) can facilitate this. They can be contacted on 01634 825004 or medwayft.pals@nhs.net

Kindest regards,

The Patient Experience Team
