"Appointment system"

About: Hurstwood Park Centre

My Mother had to wait about 7 weeks for and appointment to see the Dr to have a nerve conduction therapy. It was only after calling the centre to find out how long it would be they then offered her an appointment for that weekend - I think listening to other patients in the waiting room my Mother should have had a letter to explain that they phone you with an appointment - she never got that. After speaking to East Surrey Hospital secretary to one particular doctor, they could not help once the referral has gone nothing to do with them either - not sure where patient care comes in to play.

The staff on the day were very helpful, shame Reception is not manned. For patients who are elderly as my Mother is waiting is added worry and I feel the Consultants could let patients know what to do if they do not hear after about an appointment after being referred.
