"Incredibly uncaring"

About: Chapel Allerton Hospital

Clearly not not all is as it should be at Chapel Allerton. After attending this hospital very many times & enduring a distinct atmosphere especially in rheumatology departments that trainee Doctors do not feel as free to treat patients as they should be !? Sorry but i just got the feeling over and over again that there are uncaring controlling bully's at this hospital.

As a patient i felt intimidated & not able to discus my health freely at all at this hospital for the fact the Doctors i saw did not seem free to treat as they felt was needed.

There is a distinct intertwined research element to this hospital, and i felt like i was just an inconvenience and after though to the next research trip abroad. I was left feeling uncared for at this hospital. Even the radiology department has issues. My first visit to radiology was lovely and one lady even offered me a cup of tea. But on another occasion i encountered a most ignorant male book in staff member who just refused to look down on the counter when i put my appointment letter down in-front of his face so he could see my name and appointment time, because i can not always be heard very well due to disability, but all he did was refuse to look down at

my letter and asked " name " ?.

Plus he was having music playing too loudly in the waiting room tv i think it was. Just really obnoxious.

Should a patient ever have to leave a review like this ?

Thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention.

I am very sorry to read that you have encountered problems when attending Chapel Allerton Hospital. The experiences you have described are not the level of service we wish to offer.

I have passed your comments onto the management teams for Rheumatology and Radiology for information, however it would be very helpful and beneficial for our services and the care of future patients if you would discuss these issues further with the Trust’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS); this would also allow us to look into the matters you have raised in further detail.

You can contact PALS on 0113 206 6261 or alternatively you can email patientexperience.leedsth@nhs.net

Once again let me thank you taking the time to write to us and post your views.

Kind regards

Rosie
