"An uncomfortable experience"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Ophthalmology

(as a service user),

I attended Eye Casualty at the QMC. I have never come across so many people without people skills.

My triage nurse had her back to me whilst asking questions, and then went on to do some tests without explaining what they were about to do and why. Had I been anxious this would have been frightening.

The Doctor at least looked at me occasionally but didn't say anything about tests being done and or why. I was spoken to as if I was wasting their time. I had been referred by my GP.

All in all a most uncomfortable experience. It takes no time to be courteous.

Thank you for getting in touch to share your experience with us. I’m sorry to hear about the poor attitude and behaviour demonstrated by some of our staff. I will share your concerns with the clinic manager so that they can listen to your concerns and act on them. I’d be happy to talk further with you about your experience of this would be helpful. If you would like to do so, you can contact me on 0115 924 9924 ext 62250.

Kind regards
