I assisted my elderly neighbour to an endoscopy appointment on 21st October 2018 and could not fault the service provided. As my neighbour has been diagnosed with
Dementia, she had got confused and initially thought the appointment was at South mead. The team at South Bristol rang her house to check where we were and were happy to rearrange the procedure for later that day. When we arrived the staff at the endoscopy department could not be more polite, welcoming and helpful. They explained what was going to happen to my neighbour clearly with dignity and respect.
The problem arrises with the car park, as so many others have already alluded to in other reviews. I paid for a ticket for the amount stated when I came to leave for £1.50. clearly either the machines do not function properly or it is a coordinated wheeze by the private parking company (parking eye) to con well meaning members of the public out of money. I received a parking fine for £100 yesterday which of course I will appeal. There is a system in place to take number photos when you enter the car park as can be seen on the parking charge notice, so the parking company know very well how long you have been parking for- the machine asked for £1.50 so that was what I paid.
Such a shame as that a wonderful hospital is spoilt by the privatisation of services such as parking.
