Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with this quite comprehensive feedback around your time in ward A11.

I'm delighted that you found so many aspects of your experience positive and that you were happy with the staff skills and attitudes.

I'm also happy that you found that your privacy was respected and your pain well managed. These are all things that are of the highest importance to us as staff and the team will be happy to know that they have had a positive impact on your stay with us.

I see that you were unhappy with the waiting times on the ward. I am going to assume that you are referring to a wait for either a care package to be put in place at home or a wait for a bed in one of our community hospitals. The wait for these things can fluctuate and I understand that it must be really frustrating for you to feel like you are stuck in hospital when feeling medically well. The most important thing for us is to ensure that you are safe and that when the time comes for you to be discharged, you are going to a safe environment with as little risk of having to come back into hospital as possible. In some cases, this might mean waiting for carers to be ready to provide just a little bit of help at home.

You have mentioned the noise levels on the ward also. I agree with you, that at certain points of the day, and some days more than others, the ward activity is such that it can be quite noisy and quite busy. I would like to think that this is much better over night however it will likely always be more noisy than you are used to at home.

I'll communicate all of your points back to the team on the ward and we'll try to see if there are any suggestions, however I am glad that most of your points are positive ones.
