"Ambulance to Southmead"

About: Southmead Hospital

Attended hospital by ambulance with SVT and the staff and hospital are great. No complaints. The problem is, it’s built in the wrong place. It took the ambulance 35 mins to travel 5 miles from staple hill as the roads towards the hospital from Abbeywood roundabout are solid. Would have been there is less than 10 to Frenchay. Even the ambulance staff said they find it impossible sometimes. It was done on the cheap and frenchay is now full of new houses surprise surprise . Getting to southmead in an emergency is impossible from most places in South Gloc now

Dear John C,

Thank you for your comments, we are sorry that you had such a difficult journey when you had to attend the hospital by ambulance. We are sorry that you feel that hospital is built in the wrong place.

However we are pleased to note that you have no concerns about your care once you arrived at the hospital and that is good to hear, and we hope that you are now recovering well.

With kind regards, Sue Needs, Deputy Advice & Complaints Team Manager.
