My daughter was admitted as an emergency on Sunday 21st October with prolific vomiting and diarrhoea resulting in collapse and dehydration.
She was kept in a single room and discharged on the evening of 23rd October.
She says that the food was very poor, inedible for someone who was sick already, and all she could eat was the breakfast. The main meals were bland and very badly prepared and presented and therefore her recovery would have been hindered as she could not replace the nourishment she desperately needed following her extreme sickness.
Food is as important as medication for sick people. How this food could be so bad is a mystery, just simple home recipes properly prepared is all that is needed.
It is a scandal that hospital food in some hospitals is so bad. The catering at this hospital needs serious inspection.
I will take this matter further with the local health authority.
