"Outstanding emergency care"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Surgical Paediatrics (Children's Surgery) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

My daughter came off her bike and was unable to move much which resulted in a call for an ambulance as being diabetic she was failing fast. Within the hour we’d been seen by some fantastic Drs and Nurses, quickly x rayed and told about a plan for emergency surgery the next day. From the Paramedics right through to the Orthopaedic Surgeons we were shown the highest level of care and can’t praise the staff involved enough. Andy doing the cast provided great entertainment as well. Thank you to all involved, you made a very difficult week much easier to get through.

Dear Enmed,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your kind comments. It sounds like you and your daughter had quite a distressing time. I do hope that she is on the road to a full recovery.

I am so glad that everyone involved left such a wonderful impression and went about their business in the standard we would expect.

I wish you and your daughter all the very best.

Kind Regards

Alan

Hi Enmed,

Thank you for taking the time to express your feedback through Care Opinion.
I am very sorry to learn of your daughter's fall from her bike. This must have been extremely worrying for both your daughter, yourself and those around at the time. I do hope she is making a good recovery.

I am delighted to read that the care afforded by the ambulance crew was of the highest level. I trust the crew will have provided reassurance and appropriately treated the injuries sustained at the scene, and during the journey to hospital.

To assist us to pass on your feedback to the ambulance crew who attended, can I ask you to contact our administration team on 01224 812200 and pass on further details of the incident so we can identify the crew?

Thank you again for taking the time to get in touch.

Kind Regards,

Euan..

Dear Enmed,

Thanks very much for taking the time to post this lovely feedback. Accidents are always worrying but can be even more so when complicated by a condition like diabetes. I am delighted that all the staff your daughter met made such an effort to provide the high level of care you describe and they will be delighted to hear this feedback when I share it with them.

I hope your daughters recovery is going well and that it hasn't put her off going on her bike! Thanks again.
