What I liked
on entering A & E I was very satisfied by the way in which I was treated. I was then moved to MAAU and the day staff were fine, but unfortunately I had to remain in this unit during the night and the night staff were very unsatisfactory. My dip was empty at approx 2 am and bleeping until around 7am when a nurse came to refill my drip. The new drip was then found to be leaking all over my bed and it took approx 2 hours for someone to come to sort the drip out. A commode was left in my room at approx 10pm as I was asked for a urine sample and the sample was still in my room at 10 am the following morning the staff were very abrupt and not at all helpful. I also asked one of the nurses to sort my drip out as it had been left unclipped and was advised by the nurse that she was unable to do that and could not get anyone else to do it and then she walked to the end of my bed and started texting on her phone. I have since arrived home and the problem I was admitted to hospital for has reaoccured and I am very hesitant to call for help again at Tameside Hospital
What could be improved
to have caring night staff who enjoyed there work and care for the patients
"Very happy with A & E not happy at all with MAAU..."
