"Refusing to provide me an x-ray or scan when In..."

About: Heartlands Hospital / Accident and emergency

I initially had the Achilles tendonitis injury 15 months ago and went to A&E and they refused to give me any x-ray or scan as I could barely walk. They even refused to provide me with a crutch to support me to walk as I could not walk.

The problem has still not got better. It was aggravated last month when a wheelie bin hit my injury and on 22 September I again presented to A&E with the same problem. Again they refused to provide me an x-ray or scan. This time they did provide me with crutches to support me to walk.

Yesterday I went to BMI Edgbaston Hospital who provided me with an ultrasound scan and were shocked that it was never offered to me. The scan showed that I might require surgery to fix the problem.

With 13 years of experience working in the NHS I find it disgusting the way I was treated at the hospital with no further investigation.
