My wife had a fall at home and was confused and bleeding. She had also lost the use of her right leg. The paramedics in the ambulance were thorough and professional and treated my wife and myself with respect and empathy.
On arrival at A&E we were quickly attended to and all tests were completed and the wound in my wife's head treated very quickly. The staff of A&E were very joined up as a team and the care given was excellent.
Admission was decided to be the best course and we waited for a bed to become available. The wait was expected and understood.
On admission to Ocelot ward my wife was checked over and settled down for the night.
Subsequent days in the ward were to prove the care given was extensive and seamless. The doctors and nursing staff on the ward were professional and approachable which made discussing my wife's problems very easy. The associated services (OT, IDT and Imaging) who were also involved were part of the care team not only gave the required care but advised and contacted relevant services for her return home. Blood tests had shewn my wife had other un-associated problems and these were treated accordingly.
The outcome of the care given resulted in my wife's discharge home.
This result was excellent and it could have only have been achieved by a professional, caring, joined up team.
This leaves me to say Thankyou again to the staff of Medway Maritime Hospital for the excellent care given And to this end please pass on my thanks and sincerest regards to the departments and staff involved.
