"A and e experience"

About: Poole General Hospital / Accident and emergency

I’m very upset went to a and after being referred by both 111 clinician and paramedic who said if I feel chest pain again or palpitations or pain headaches or pain in eyes or weakness in arm or legs I should visit a and a and . I went in and was ok with first nurses but next nurse practitioner was terrible poked my ear on purpose with and ear device. I had no proper dr and no blood test or any proper assessment . He was very rude and it turns out according to eye optimist I’ve had a stroke so you have failed at a and e haven’t failed at your pro pedi or you need to back to school

Dear Anonymous

I was very disappointed to read your account of your visit to A&E.

I would very much like to investigate what happened as this is not the standard of care we aim to offer at Poole Hospital.

If you are happy for me to do this, would you please either ring the Patient Experience Team on 01202 448499 with your name, date of birth and contact number or you can email patientexperienceteam@poole.nhs.uk with these details.

If you mention that you posted a comment on the NHS Choices web site, we will be able to marry up your comments with your personal details.

I hope very much that you are feeling much better now.

Kind regards,

The Patient Experience Team, Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
