What I liked
I visited St Helier twice today, First for an appointment in the fracture clinic for my son and secondly A&E with my daughter.
The fracture clinic worked well together my appointment was as 9.10 and I was out by 10 am. There was barely any waiting around. Booked in at reception, plaster off son became unwell so went to toilet a nurse came to check on us. Seen immediately on return slick process. One happy Mum and Son. Special note to the fab guy in the plaster room right degree of humour.
A&E arrived at 4.30 pm out within the hour having been seen by a Doctor again with humour made my 12 year old feel calm and listened to. Good news no breaks and again happily on my way.
I have recently visited a friend in post op Frank Gee ward. Friendly staff attentive to both patients and visitors,
Well done one and all. With luck I wont have to visit again for a long while however I will continue to sing its praises to all who try to criticise these hard working professionals,
What could be improved
Whilst visiting a catering assistant collected food and tipped soup down the sink in the ward. She did not clean it up and the nurses had to not knowing what it was. A silly oversight on her part but implecations were nurses needing to do it.
"Excellent experience from initial A&E to follow up..."
