"Post tonsillectomy bleeding"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency Crosshouse Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter suffered a few major bleeds a week after her tonsillectomy, staff at accident and emergency were brilliant at keeping us calm in the middle of the night .. especially nurses Hazel and Kerrie ... Theatre staff were fab and the staff in wards 1a and 1b excellent also .. can’t remember everyone’s name but In particular Naomi and Megan made her feel really comfortable after such a scary experience....

Dear Katimum,

Wow! Bleeding after having your tonsils out is relatively rare however when it happens it can be very dramatic and frightening. I can't imagine what it's like to have a child that is going through that. I am delighted that Hazel and Kerrie were able to help keep you calm and that your experience in wards 1a and 1b was so positive.

I will share your feedback with Hazel and Kerrie and we will also share at our morning huddle.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I hope your daughter is recovering at home now.

Claire
